Part I: Invasion Confirmed

Chapter I: Eye of The Beholder

"The massive monstrosity before you rises up like a black, crag-covered mountain of scales and hide. The head is a spade-like terror spiked with cruel red eyes that shine with a frightening malevolence. Rivulets of lava and magma are visible beneath the great wyrm's scorched scales."- Maraad's journal of Warcraft

He rapidly closed the journal. It was really old. Benini found it when inspecting an old site at the Stone Bay Cliffs. A cold breeze caught the patrol by surprise. This burst the occasion for a little talking:
"I'd never have thought that this part of the region is so windy." said Benini.
"Don't worry mate, we will soon reach the town. Our shift ends at 12 o'clock. I hope no mindless freaks decide to ruin our weekend by attacking. Its Sunday afternoon after all." Answers the other one.
"Yeah well a guard's job is never easy enough you know, Dough!"
Some birds filled the scenery. It was a hot summer day in the world of Azeroth. The town of Almercy had always relied on its main patrol squad for protection. This three people team was patrolling the hills around the village using a 12 hour shift system. The town had its settings between some mountain peaks, although the area was rather warm, and no one would think of any foes discovering it.
Almercy had always been an important trade center between Silvermourne and the Southern Cities. During recent times, the region was under Horde control. The administrating councils left the town alone, and the people living there were free people. And these free people were always being guarded by a 12 hour shifting three-men team. At that moment, Oscar Benini, Peter Dough and Hector Kraft were patrolling the narrow valleys surrounding the little town. In order to break the silence, Benini began singing:
"Oh what nice hills here and there,
We go through it all, we dare
We patrol from night to day,
We only go on our own way,
As we're all for one and one for all
And we are all very tall…"

Suddenly there was a moan. A horrid, stuffy moan that could be heard from miles away.
"Benini, stop singing!" Said Kraft with is well-known commanding tone.
A powerful stench followed the moan. The team had been slowly attracted out of the green zone near Almercy, and into the far eastern valleys. The little town's protectors were about to find something they couldn't have ever thought of. Their last Sunday. And a bloody one, too. A ball of meat, a single big eye, pairs of laser shooting tentacles, and a devouring mouth. What more could you ask? The name? Beholder, an immense, flying being, often nicknamed "The Cyclops' head". It wasn't a natural inhabitant of Azeroth, so a new question was rapidly set up: was there a portal opened?
The inevitable happened and the Beholder overpowered the protectors of Almercy with ease…
Maybe this is where I enter the whole story. My name? Not important. I must say that I knew a portal was opened but I didn't do anything about it because it would be of no use. Why? Earth was already in danger of something bigger than the attack of an angry Beholder. Wyrms!
Deathwing was hiding after he lost the War for the Sword, two years ago. The ancient black dragon was scouting for possible escape routes out of Azeroth all the time. This time the wyrm got it right and managed to fly away with an army of dragons, ranging from Whelps to Drakes and mighty, older ones. They dispatched the Beholder with no problem, and destroyed Almercy. Fortunately the inhabitants managed to escape as they were all warned before the attack. They had time to run away, not like poor Dough, Benini and Kraft.
Now we will let the story unfold. My dreams and the legacies that follow this mighty journal of tales must be shown to the world! The dragons invaded Earth through the portal the Beholder used to get to Azeroth. The "Cyclops' Head" must have come from somewhere under the ground. But now that does not matter. Deathwing's rage will be too powerful for human kind. However, something bigger is in fact being planned behind everything. A plot of unimaginable caliber, one that will in fact spoil the invasion and force ourselves to fight our spawns, our own contraptions and our own brothers… Everything could have been seen… in the eye of the Beholder.

"Our kin is kept in their hands. They have the power to change it all…"
–Jonathan Arrow
