Standing in the rain
Feeling deathly pain
She turned her head to me
A sight I couldn't bear to see.
Lost in a maze of eyes
I tried to catch time as it flies
I stood still, frozen in deep
As the girl started to weep.
And she wept, she wept alone
Frightening me to the bone
I couldn't see now what to do
I felt like her; we felt so blue.
Standing in the rain, it rained
Wildest feelings to be tamed
The girl stopped. She looked at me
Purest marble, young and free.
We stood still, embraced the warmth
It kept pouring very hard
We danced dances (unreal glee)
It all seemed like a dream to me.
Out of the blue then I could feel
The girl's smile turned on life's wheel
I closed my eyes; I sighed; I blinked
Lost in love memories shirked
"Take my hand, look in my eyes
Tell me truth, forsake all lies"
She whispers in the shaking breeze
As my face, my paw, all freeze.
"What do you want me to be?
Is it the man you see in me?"
I recalled memories of love
Sweet dreams lived under this cove.
Empty, lost, lost in her thoughts
She yelled: "I've lost too many fights!"
I took her hand as she had said
Kissed it; on the ground we laid.
She cried, all driving me astray
Dances gone; we lost our way
It was raining heavily
And I loved her
The rain wouldn't stop to fall
Moments seemed to be worth it all
And her breath, exhausted, vivid
My emotions it had killed.
Painful raining rains of tears
We kissed each other in this verse
And in the deadly lightning storm
We held all time, we held the lorn.
And I remember standing still
Whispering to my own will:
"The boy in the rain, my friend, you see
That boy could (should) have been me
Raining the rain of tears
